Poppy seeds are popular in European dishes, especially in baked goods like breads, cakes, cookies, and muffins. Widely used in Eastern European dishes, they lend their sweet nutty flavor to hamentashen, strudel, and babalky. Add poppy seeds to salad dressings, buns, tapioca and rice puddings, and to fruit and nut fillings in desserts.
