While it's very difficult to find real wasabi in North America, wasabi powder is a good approximation. Mix this powder in a 1:1 ratio with water to get that signature green paste next to your sushi order. But if you're feeling adventurous, use wasabi powder on its own to spice up your mixed nuts or popcorn, in pokē bowls, or with raw meat preparations like tartare and ceviche.
