Turmeric, related to ginger, has a similar flavor profile. It's musky and a little hot, with notes of black pepper and mustard. Ways to use turmeric include tossing your vegetables with it before roasting, adding it to rice, making a tea with coconut milk and honey, and adding it to eggs in scrambles and frittatas. Turmeric also pairs well with creams and creamy dishes like yogurt, cauliflower or squash soup, and curries.
