Haldi doodh, also known as golden milk or turmeric tea, is a traditional Indian drink with origins in Ayurvedic medicine. The turmeric is believed to aid with digestion, prevent inflammation, and boost the immune system.
To make haldi doodh, mix 1 tsp spices with 1 tsp ghee or coconut oil to make a paste, then warm it up in a small saucepan while whisking in 2 cups milk or milk alternative and 1 tsp sweetener of your choice. Heat up the mixture until it starts to simmer, then enjoy!
Alternatively, mix an equal amount of spice powder with ghee or coconut oil to have your paste on hand any time you want a hot cup of golden milk. The paste will keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
